There’s no need to overcomplicate how to organize yourself in this course, but there are some tools you need to succeed.
In a given class each day, you will use your computer for at least part of the class. So, please arrive with your computer charged.
TIP
Charge your computer overnight, each night.
When you are in class, close apps you don’t need open. The same goes for tabs in your web browser. Everything you keep running on your computer draws energy.
You might find the Activity Monitor app on your computer useful to seeing exactly how much CPU, Memory, and Energy each app on your computer is using:
Outside of your computer, all of these items are needed – I recommend you keep them in a pencil case:
- pencil
- pen
- highlighter
- ruler
- eraser
- protractor
- binder
- graph paper
- lined paper
- section dividers
- standard scientific calculator
If you don’t have all of these today, do not worry.
In our welcome survey, you can indicate whether you’d like Mr. Gordon to bring you one or more of these items in our next class. Any items you request will be billed to your family’s account with LCS. The most important items are something to write with, an eraser, a binder, and paper.
